Robbie Keane will sign until the end of the season in my opinion. One of our targets, not surprising as he knows Hughton from Spurs. I can't see Keane waiting until the summer to find a club.

IF this was going to happen would surely have been done at the start of the window, makes no sense to wait until now.

Could be he's waiting to see all offer or taking his time to decide. Linked with loads of clubs but as OSRGULL says he has that Hughton link...

My sources tell me that Robbie Keane is a done deal but that it won't be announced until closer to the end of the transfer window.

My cat says otherwise. Probably both as reliable.

Don't let him anywhere near the M25

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson is keeping options open over a possible approach for striker Robbie Keane.

The 36-year-old is a free agent after leaving Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy in November.

The Republic of Ireland's record appearance holder has played for 10 different clubs during his career including Leeds, Liverpool and Celtic.

"I'm not going to dismiss it, but I'm not going to say that the interest is full on," said Grayson.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "If Robbie Keane is available then he is a player that is going to attract a lot of interest from a lot of clubs.

"Would we be interested? I'm sure every club in the Championship would be looking forward to an opportunity speak to him."

Asked if he had spoken to Keane, Grayson responded: "I'm not telling you that."

Makes no sense. We were in for him in August - I doubt we've waited 5 months for someone else to show interest so we can find out the fee [emoji38] Makes no sense what he's written?!
Well allegedly we had a £4.5 million bid rejected on the last deadline day.

I suppose we are looking to see what amount would be accepted now before bidding again.

Can't our club just talk to the player's agent? It's not like you can rely on what's said to be the accepted bid from anyone else anyway. And if we were waiting for that, that's not the sort of information our club would release. So for those reasons, it's BS.

Marshall is not a striker.

But neither is Johnny Russell!

I can't believe that a £4.5m bid was rejected, I think that would be in bite your hand off, drive him there kind of territory. That would be more that we paid for Anya and he's a much better player.

I heard he could play up front in a support striker role. Is that wrong ? ???

Ben Marshall certainly can't fulfil this particular gap in our squad.

Well that's what Alan Nixon of the Sun can be quoted on. Maybe he's making it up ?

I think it's wrong - He's one of those hybrid players that Derby seem to specialise in, neither a winger nor a striker. I honestly don't see how he improves your squad.

Yeah, there's an entire thread on our forum 'Alan Nixon transfer debacle 16/17', he has a very low hit rate!

OK, this actually convinces me that talk of this potential transfer is just another of many albion smokescreens.
