Johnny Cash - RIP

Johnny Cash dead

A big, big influence on contemporary music.

The "million dollar quartet" - Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley. How much would that be worth today?

A wonderful man. I always think of "Hey Porter" when I cross into Sussex on the way down from London

Very sad news. His recent records have been wonderful. IMO his version of U2's "One" was better than the original.

Absolutely. I'm not a great fan of U2, but JC's gut-wrenching version made me realise that there might be a good songwriter (Bono, that is) lurking under the usual bombast.

RIP Man in Black

To whom it may concern - Johnny Cash has died

Sad to hear that after a lengthy illness Johnny Cash has passed away. Granted his music wasn't to everybody's taste but he wrote a number of classics and was noted for his sense of humour. Laterly he covered a lot of more contempory artists such as Depche Mode's 'Personal Jesus'. He also had a string of MTV nominations for his epic video of Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt', a great video indeed.
