Why is he a twat? I would love a Brighton fan like that who got the singing going game in, game out. Bit eccentric sure, but so what?

Say what you like about him (and he's an easy target) but he does come across here as considered and erudite.

BBC News - 'We blame the men at the top' says Portsmouth fan

Bloke looks like, well, like no other fan but that aside every time I see him being interviewed he goes up in my estimation.

Agreed. Seems a really genuine guy that would do absolutely anything for his club. There aren't enough football fans like John Westwood about with his passion. I feel for Pompey's supporters at the moment.

Would you call him a twat to his face, Hove Seagull?

A passionate eccentric of the kind most premiership clubs would love to be shot of. I just hope there will be room for people like John Westwood at Falmer. Anyone noticed that he sounds like Attila?
Those who think that people like him are twats then he could always avoid them by following showjumping or joining the Mormons.

Yes credit where credit is due. He is absolutely right !!

The money men involved in football and many players alike are only interested in lining their own pockets. Football to them is a means to big earnings not the passion that fans have for the clubs.

So, you'd be proud to have the sort of fan that gets banned from away grounds for urinating on the seats? I say again, he's a twat.

That wasn't true. He was supposedly meant to have done this at St Marys but it was not true, do you really think they would have allowed him in 2 weeks ago when the two teams played again?

I think he is quite la-Di-Dah, runs an antique book shop in Petersfield I believe.
I also seem to remember reading that Pompey pay his travel expenses and tickets cos he is a figurehead much like a club mascot, though dont know how true this is.

Still he has a love for the club and is a complete fan, even if he looks a tit.

When Portsmouth were in the Cup Final and 6th in the league, their fans had nothing to say about the 'money men'. They have obviously been living well beyond their means for several years, and yet only after their almost inevitable fall from grace do they start making negative noises about the way their club has been run.

I do hope they survive and wouldn't want any football club to go out of business, but they should hand back their FA Cup winners' medals as they won this trophy with players that they could never have paid for.

I actually heard that ITV campaigned on his behalf to get him allowed in for the cup game the other week, because they couldn't show Portsmouth on TV without several shots of that obnoxious, bell-ringing twat.
