That is a shame, he has always given his all for england which is more than can be said for rio ferdinand, typical of the f.a to mishandle an awkward situation, at the end of the day he was cleared in court and that should have been the end of it.

Mixed feelings on here then???

Twat of a bloke. But gave his all.... Everytime he pulled the shirt on.

A befitting epitaph for JT IMO?

I reckon he knows he will be found guilty by the FA and is jumping before he is pushed.

But this is good news as it is embarrassing to have such a odious person representing my country.

Now we need Lampard to follow his lead. Not that Lampard isn't a fine player, and a gentleman (certainly when compared to JT!) - but the Lampard or Gerrard / Lampard and Gerrard question has dogged English football for too long. Stevie G may not have long to go in international football himself, but at least for a while the England manager can play him in his best role without having to ask him to moderate it or make compromises to accommodate Lampard.

Puuuuulleeeeaaasssse!!!!! Legend??????? What did we win under his captaincy? Did he enhance the reputation of the country? That would be "nothing" and "no".

What did you win under anyone's captaincy? (Apart from Bobby Moore).

The FA couldn't do anything until the court case was over. And the court case could not be the end of it because he is alleged to have broken FA rules as well as criminal law. The FA have handled it alright in my opinion.

Nick Collins is talking about it on SSN. He has said there was a feeling that if he had never been stripped of the captaincy, and was captain through the euros, he would have retired at the end of that competition anyway.

Did JT start on the bench for Chelski yesterday? Maybe that got his mind ticking over?

So now if Cole and Baines get injured and Bridge keeps up his form, maybe we could have current England International!

agree, anyone who does this should get at least a little bit of respect:
