Don't bet on this. Remember Munich? He wasn't even playing and he still managed to hijack Chelsea's finest moment in full kit including shinpads for his own selfish needs. He'll find a way to weasel himself in to the prime position.


That said, Philip Lahm will be hoisting the cup above his head in three weeks time.

Er ... The trials claimed it was 3 million Jews at Auchwitz, later revised to 1.9 million. Unless you know otherwise ...?

The actual figure is not 100% clear depending on what you include in the definition of the Holocaust but is generally accepted to be approx. 6 million Jews. Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust#Victims_and_death_toll has a good collection of the info with references. Don't forget there were many other groups persecuted by the Nazis as well.

I visited Stutthof, a camp in northern Poland in 1989 as a teenager, and it is one of the most important days of my life. It had a massive impact on my life and thinking and in my view everyone should take the time to visit one of these places.

I am really pleased so many of the squad took the time to go and I fail to see how anyone could be not be affected by the experience.

Many have been before, while on other trips to Poland.

One thing that was mentioned today.
The England players that did go were told to dress casually by The FA.
All to do with stress on legs and feet, from wearing formal clothes all day.

I can feel some high horses being mounted over this, but it's not down to the players.

I heard them mention this on the telly too. I thought what a shame that it has to be made clear that they were told to do so for the sake of their feet. They literally can't do anything without being seen to not, excuse the pun, be putting their feet in it. I know some of them are a bit thick and do dumb things but god, the microscopes they are under constantly.

If I'd seen them wandering around in their training gear as they did, I wouldn't have thought anything of it other than, fair play for them to going to see the place. Some people are just waiting to pounce aren't they?

I don't want Terry to be the only subject of my utter derision if others did the same thing. I recall the World Cup in 98 where Laurent Blanc got sent off in the semi thanks to Sasca Billic (I think) cheating and feigning injury claiming an punch to the face thus denying Blanc the finest and proudest moment of his entire footballing life and still allowing Didier Deschamp the honour of lifting the World Cup as he was the captain on the night, Terry was rightly sent off for sticking his knee into a player, off the ball, putting his side down to 10 against Barcelona and could of cost them even the chance of playing the final let alone winning the thing and still the odious prick got to stand, boots shinpads and all on the winners podium and lift the thing. ****.

I do not recall any other Chelsea player who played a bit part in the semi and no part in the final dressing up in their kit (including shin-pads) and taking centre stage when the cup was presented. I appreciate the other suspended players were on the pitch celebrating, but they stepped aside when the trophy was presented.

Like most I cant stand Terry so I really dont want to apologise for him but it was actually UEFA who told the players they had to wear the kit on the pitch in the celebrations. The other suspended players like Ivanovic also had full kit on.
