Dorset Seagull
Once Dolphin, Now Seagull
Played against him once. I was out on the wing and he was full back. Kicked lumps out of me
And also the Methodist Minister at Steyne Gardens in WorthingHis dad was the Southwick Methodist Church minister, I seem to remember. And he was a wonderful presence in football.
Usually followed up with, and what is interesting about him is.....He was my favourite ever football commentator.
"Errrrrrrrrrrrr remarkable"
Actually RIP Mr Motson.
Not sure if it was his last game, but it was our first win in the PL and he was behind the mic for it. Marvellous. Edit: just watched the video and it was the first game after he announced his retirement. He carried on for the rest of the season.Very sad news, the voice of football for pretty much my entire life. He will be missed.
Am I correct in thinking he actually asked to report on us as his retirement match? Against West Brom?
RIP Motty.
Tyler is the same age - 77 - so surely can't go on for much longer.Another of my childhood commentators gone, I think the only one left now is Martin Tyler.
