To be honest a fairly underwhelming ad. I like the message but it lacks the emotional heft you come to expect from these commercials.

The best thing about it, is how it has yet again flushed out the broflake racists who positively explode at the sight of black representation. So for that reason it's a thumbs up from me.

I thought it was garbage. And that version of the song was a turgid abomination.

And I say this as someone who spent a lifetime in advertising and who loves Christmas like a kid.

Apart from not working in advertising, that's pretty much where I am too. Very underwhelmed.

Was a bit underwhelmed by it TBH compared to previous years.

But it's upset all these weapons so I love it for that reason;

Haha! 15% of black families aren’t white though are they! Brilliant. Brilliant. What is “woke” about this ad? It’s just a kid who happens to be black.

It does seem to have brought out the "I'm not racist, but" brigade, who follow that statement by expressing anger that black people are on the telly.

Sad, really.

So are you going along with the trope that says, anyone who isn't enthusiastic about it, thinks it's pretty meh, or that it's just not very good, is a racist?

Now that would be sad.

No, I'm suggesting that anyone who isn't enthusiastic about it, thinks it's pretty meh, or that it's just not very good solely because there are black people in it, is a racist.
