I used to Race walk with John as part of the Brighton and Hove Race Walking squad shared many a trip in a car to races up and down the country happy times, anyway here's to a long and happy retirement John with Liz

Will always associate him with desperately listening in for news - any news at all - of new signings on weekday mornings when we so badly needed any glimpse of quality during the Gillingham years.

"Jeff Wood says there were signs of improvement during the club's fifth 5-0 home defeat in a row" etc etc. He must have been tempted to have a sneaky rum most mornings, it was like a spaced out funeral service for hope
