Incase anyone cares, Joey Barton has been refused bail as in remanded in custody until 16th January when he is set to appear in court.

Looks like the end of his career.

Shame the trailer trash prick couldn't have handed in his job application at the Scouse McDonalds at 5am while he was there, instead of laying into his future customers. The beauty of it is tho that Big Sam will blame him for helping get him the sack, and there will be plenty of bare-bellied Geordies who will give him stick forever. Marked man. Hope he ends up marrying Kerry Katona. Nice one 'Joey'

Barton obviously has some mental issues. He has grown up as scum, now he's just fantastically wealthy scum. Most professional footballers seem to grow out of his kind of behaviour, as the money brings them a cossetted lifestyle where every little worry in life is taken care of for them by someone else. Barton is unusal in that despite his priveliges, he still goes around behaving like a nasty, violent little thug. He hasn't grown out of it yet, so its pretty clear now that he never will.

Absolutely stinks of special treatment,

Crown court judges very often give bail when magistrates have remanded in custody. They look at the legal implications and there will probably be very stringent bail conditions. The hearing took over an hour so it wasn't a foregone conclusion.
The magistrates would have remanded in custody automatically because the ABH and affray were committed whilst on bail for another offence.
