As a Burnley fan I had to sign up to post on this thread. I thought the same as you lot about Barton until he came here. He's the main reason we won this league - no sending off (no thuggish behaviour this season despite one post above), an inspiration to the younger players, a motivator and has been a rock in midfield.

However I do agree it is time for him to move - his style is not good enough for the Premier League. Despite the positives of what he has done for our promotion he has altered our style of play. We must have been the most boring club to watch this season, some games making me wonder why I still go. We ground out our promotion.

Hope you get some luck on Monday - you can't surely get the bad luck of last week, but I'm certain you can still win it. If not then perhaps we can swap Dyche for Hughto, who I rate - to get some entertainment back at the Turf and promotion for you.

Well Captain Yala you would find 28,000 Brighton fans who would disagree about "no thuggish behaviour this season" with the stamp on Kayal at the AMEX a few weeks ago as prime evidence. He was very effective for you in that game in as much as he wound-up every Albion player and put them off their game and never shut-up moaning at the ref for 95 mins. But thanks for your good wishes for the game on Monday. The problem is we are down to the bare bones through injury and suspension and so need a miracle.

Never to be seen again by a Brighton fan.

His style of play will fit in well with the way they play up there.

Interestingly his style is not typical of what Warburton has implemented at Rangers. They do play football, as was witnessed with their demolition of Dundee and their outclassing of Celtic in the Scottish Cup Quarter and Semi Finals. Interesting to see that Warburton feels he needs some steel in the middle of the park. I would recommend you watch the Cup Final next week, might be surprised at the quality of the football. Rangers most certainly will challenge Celtic for the league next season. Also Warburton will ensure that Barton keeps on the right side with respect to his media outbursts. Warburton is one of the most impressive managers I have seen and stands head and shoulders above anyone else up here.

Great move at 33. An upbeat Rangers, packed stadium, old firm games and a 2 year deal. He would have known that the prem was going to be a real challenge at 33 whereas this will be a proper JOLLY.

Him and Scott Brown are going to have a LOVELY old time facing each other.

A press conference is scheduled for later. I wonder what accent he'll be speaking it in.

Excellent stuff, I've no doubt a player of such exemplary skills and attitude will be a real asset to that absolute joke of a league. Well suited to each other really.

Can imagine his first old firm derby will be an event as well.

Brighton - In your face
Excellent, the Scottish league doesn't get anywhere near my radar so I can easily ignore him. Good luck stamping on someone in that league, you'll get your face torn off.
