Twitter awash with mostly incredulous comments (from other club’s fans) about how we managed to snare such a good player for that price and without anything going public ......loads of positive posts from Ajax fans too (top bloke as well as a very good player). Him and Lallana look to be perfect for balancing out the youth in the squad.

28 though, seems quite a short term signing. But I guess if we’re going to have a young squad that’s the balance we need.

28 isn't old in the modern game, three year contract will see him through to the old age of 31 when he can leave and claim a pension.
