Absolutely SMACKS of him just using us just to get more money out of Bournemuff and suggests a total lack of interest about actually leaving - clearly why it took so long and why the agent kept stalling the deal.

Basically, he seems to have been a bit of a dick - and a dick we could probably do without.

Yep. Hope we get them in the cup next season so we get the chance to boo him.

It is win win for everyone involved too.

Bournemuff keep their player.
Grabban gets a hefty wage rise.
Grabban's agent gets a nice big fee.
BHAFC dont sign a player who seems to be a bit of a dick.

Just need to negotiate for Mason now.

Sorry. I was only trying to highlight that one team meeting the buy out clause didn't automatically mean the owning club had to let him go, that there was an avenue for them to keep him, and I appear to have foreseen the way it would play out.
Some people didn't seem to understand what the buyout clause meant. It meant that if Grabban wanted to leave, he could have. Bournemouth couldn't stop him, if that's what he wanted. If goes without saying that he could choose to stay, no one ever said otherwise. You don't appear to have foreseen anything.

If we swoop for Mason then expect a good week or near the end of January for any news/deal. We'll probably start of with £1.1m bid then it'll continue.

I knew you were going to say that...

Not at all sure about Joe Mason. He's played 140 games with just 29 goals and is 22 years old so not a kid.

True, but he's not an out-and-out striker. He plays behind the front man, so one ever 4/5 games isn't too bad for that - especially at 22. He's also been central to a team that won promotion to the Premier League. Would much rather him than Grabban who has had one decent half-season in the Championship

Hats off to the Bournemouth posters on this thread.

A credit to themselves and their club.

Proper supporters, who know how to conduct themselves on a rivals forum.

Absolutely. I had no issue with Grabban getting more money from another club if they came in for him. However, staying with Bournemouth suggests he was looking to get a raise out of it for himself and piss us about. As you say, not the sort of player we really want in our team so fine.

Bournemouth have tabled a bid (believed to be around £1.5million) for Joe Mason.
