Was he run out?
only 50 of his runs came in boundaries - so he in fact completed the 22 yards successfully on no fewer than 60 occasions...

EDIT: replace "less" with "fewer"

Gatting hundred on Sussex debut
5:30pm Tuesday 24th March 2009

By Bruce Talbot »

Former Albion striker Joe Gatting has scored a century on his Sussex debut.

Gatting, who left the Seagulls earlier this season so he could concentrate on a cricket career, made 110 against Surrey in the Pro ARCH Trophy in Dubai today.

Gatting was awarded a development contract by the county and his place on the pre-season tour to Dubai was partly funded by the Sussex Young Cricketers.

Opening the batting with Ed Joyce, he helped put on 125 with Joyce scoring 50 off 59 balls.

Gatting hit eight fours and three sixes in 136 balls

I wish the bloke all the luck in the world...but that sentence does seem to suggest that he had some kind of choice in the matter :lolol:

He is better off at Sussex- more management stability

How many Managers have the Seagulls had in the eleven season that Peter Moores and Mark Robinson have beeen leading Sussex?

Good Luck to Joe, he should have been given time to develop as a football player. He was not the quickest but he had ability. Prove Albion's worst fans wrong, go on my son.

Thier was a skysports news feature on it last night, I only saw it in the distance without sound. Showed him scoring goals for the albion and flashing up facts about him and his family connections.

Anyone else see and hear it, or even cleaver enough to make the pictures and talkies appear here.
