None of your buisness
Just been speaking to a work colleague WHU fan. They were in corporate at WH last home game, and evidently Joe Cole said directly to her:
"I think i'll be going to Brighton"

Don't shoot the messenger. Of course this might have been pending whether we got promoted...
If it's wrong though, I might just shoot her!

Does anyone know what wages Joe Coles is on at West sham?

No idea, but he's quoted this morning as saying it's not a financial issue for him as to where he goes.
That said, I guess if we've just freed up wages from PIG & Orlandi...

Since when was Joe Cole one of the best players of his generation? Cole never really matched all the hype he got when he was a young teenager living in Camden.

With hindsight, Cole turned out to be a massive failure. Similar to Nani of United.

Since he first played. In his best role, that of playmaker, number ten, whatever you call it, he was on course to be England's Hagi. Then came the move to Chelsea, where Mourinho decided to play him out of position, wide on the left. Hey presto, he suddenly became the answer to England's left-side problem, but unfortunately he didn't have the pace to excel there. Ancelotti tried to bring him back into a central attacking role, but the Chelsea midfield logjam meant that he didn't get the run of games he needed. Some say his best season was on loan at Lille. Eden Hazard has raved about him. I agree he hasn't had the career he should have, but that doesn't mean he wasn't one of the best.

This is the kind of speculation and hearsay that I very much enjoy reading. I so hope it's true.

Cole would be a very, very good signing I think. He is exactly the type of player we've been crying out for for the past three seasons- a creative attacking midfielder. He's always struck me as a decent pro too, so I'm sure there'd be no ego and we can expect a late career rejuvenation a la Bridge and Upson.

Choose two from Ince/Stephens/Crofts plus Cole with a front three of Ulloa and two of March/Lua Lua/Buckley and we'll be looking at the top six again. Nice.

When you consider that we appear to be cutting back on costs, with Orlandi and PIG seemingly gone than how will Joe cole fit in wage wise?

I think our cost cutting will be limited to operational issues now,... the club know very well that to compete on the pitch you need to compete with the economics of it all,..... unless they have settled for not competing at the highest level.

Perhaps clearing out high earners makes it possible to bring other high earners in ???

How is it cutting costs? Orlandi spent most of last season injured, looks like good business sense to release him and use his wages elsewhere on someone who will hopefully be able to stay fit for most of the season.

PIG had already said he wanted to play in the Premier League, he'll be on high wages, we could sign someone to replace him on not as much wages wise and then look at where the remainder could be spent.

There is nothing in either of those releases that imply we are cutting costs. If Orland is on 20k and PIG is on 25k a week then we could possibly sign 4 decent players on 12k a week each, they would still be on a lot more than the Championship current average wage.

Joe Cole is currently earning nothing. Whatever he earned before is not relevant as he will know coming towards the end of his career he has no chance of getting that money unless he moves to Russia, the Middle East or gets a marquee player contract with a MLS club. Upson happily moved down here from Stoke and took the cut in money from Premier League wages to Championship wages and he will have never earned the kind of money that Cole has over his career.

I always love the story about Joe Cole escaping from a window after Keeley Hazells boyfriend (i think) caught them on the job and later got beaten up for the priveldge. Fantastic stuff.

They played an interview on Talksport this morning. His words were along the lines of 'Finance is not important in relation to my next move' which is good news for us as someone can and will offer more I am sure.

Well quite, which is why i would be taken aback if an earlier poster actually is accusing me of lying.

I'd invite anyone to trawl through my 6000+ posts to see if i'm prone to wildly speculating. Like others, I've been 'in the know' on some things in the past and felt uncomfortable about commenting, and have therefore stayed relatively quiet.

This Joe Cole snippet was told to me today and weighing up my trust in the person who told me, i felt it was worth passing on.

I dont care if people believe it or not - and it may not happen - but I do take issue with being called a liar and 'making stuff up'.
