By Andy Naylor »

Albion have signed Joe Anyinsah on loan from Championship club Preston for a month.

The 23-year-old winger or striker begins training with the Seagulls today and will be in contention for Saturday's trip to Yeovil.

Manager Micky Adams said: "He is a wide player or he can play up front.

"He played for Carlisle at Withdean last season and he caught my eye when I saw him playing for them.

"One of my scouts saw him score a hat-trick for Preston reserves against Blackpool last week."

Bristol-born Anyinsah scored three goals in ten League One starts on loan to Carlisle. He also had a loan spell last season at Crewe.

Hi Joe. I bought you for Brighton in Football Manager 08. You were pretty good for me, I was a Championship side by then though so you did not always get in.

Joseph Greene "Joe" Anyinsah (born October 8, 1984 in Bristol) is a professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Preston North End. He is Ghanaian Descent, and comes from a family of groundskeepers.

Joe started his career at Bristol City making his debut on the August 7, 2004 against Torquay United. In 2005 he had a month's loan spell with Hereford United.

At the beginning of the 2005/06 season Anyinsah opted not to sign a new contract for Bristol City - who he'd been with since the age of 9 - and instead signed for Preston North End a move he was particualarly happy with on a personal level due to him having many close friends who live in the area. In 2006 he had loan spell with Bury.

In September 2007, he joined Carlisle United on a months long loan, he scored his first senior goal whilst at The Cumbrians in a 3-1 victory at Bournemouth. The loan was extended to 3 months, however no permanent deal came of it. For the 2008 season, Joe is expected to challenge for a place in the first team.

Joe plays as a winger on both sides, though he is right footed. He is known for his footwork, love of the comedian Tommy Cooper dribbling skill, and his raunchy jokes.

Jake is out Saturday, because of the head injury he sustained in the reserves mid-week. Expect to see 'quick-Joe' [to differentiate him from our very own 'slow-Joe'] START at Yeovil.

It will be aces to have PACE in the side. PACE is KING. Just ask Croatia...

I see he's a Tommy Cooper fan too! Apparently Joe went into a Brighton pub last night with a lump of asphalt on his shoulder. He says to the bar man: "Give us a pint and one for the road ".
