[Help] Job Interview advice

To clear up any misapprehensions I am not preparing myself for when our current leader moves on......

Although I am within sight of state pension age I have applied for part time work in a local supermarket. Any hints please for my interview tomorrow, particularly dress code - suit may be a little OTT.

If you're good enough to work in a supermarket, you're better than any of the leaders we've had in the last 15 years . . . I digress, Trousers and shirt, ironed, and proper shoes . . . Ie leather, clean/polished will put you in the sweet spot IMO.

Shoes, always check out the shoes.

Folk can smarten themselves up with a nice suit and cotton shirt, but for the REAL person check out the St Louis Blues.

If you don’t mind being told what to do my an 18 year old then go for it. Super market line managers tend to be very young personally would do my head in. You are also likely to be interviewed by a kid so probably don’t need a suit. I only know all this because the Missus has worked for M&S for years good luck anyway.

A casual shirt and trousers (nice jeans) will be fine, no rie either.
I don't think I've seen anyone applying for a non suit job, wearing a suit, in a bazillion years.

I was told, a few months after starting a job 25 years ago, clean/polished shoes sealed the deal. . . . I agree, and it's that attention to a relatively minor, but important detail that does it for me.

I retired early eighteen months ago....I have less time now than when I was work sixty hours a week!
How can people be bored of 'retirement'?
