Surely giving him a free transfer would not cost us much money.

The player himself won't go on a Free Transfer. Why would he ? He has no incentive to do so unless we pay his contract up in full and if we are going to do that we might as well keep him at the club until it is up.

The difference being rthat Tanno did the job and was much more capable.
Couldn't resist looking up Tanno's contribution ...................................

"After not playing at a professional level for six years he started at left back for an FA Cup clash against Woking. Taricco was sent off for a second bookable offence after 105 minutes. Taricco was sent off again, this time receiving a straight red card, during the 3–0 away defeat to Championship League leaders Southampton on 19th. November"
I think I prefer Calde's contribution - we'd have really been in the brown stuff without any credible LB if he'd got himself red-carded!

If CH has no intention of using him wouldnt it make sense to give him a free transfer and we make up his wages from what the new club offer to what he gets now. What is to be gained by keeping him here?

We are not a charity. Why pay someone for nothing. CH has never said he won't play him but it just seems that others are ahead of him but he can't ever come out and say he is never going to play him because you need to keep the lads morale up in case he really does need him.

So we are paying that plus whatever wages we pay for his replacement, who probably won't play either ahead of Bong. It's a waste of money.

CH has not come out and said he wont play him but the indications are that he is further down the pecking order than Calderon. If we let him go on a free transfer then subsidize his wages even if it be 50% or 60% for the remainder of his contract, it will be less than we are paying now and still getting the same game time.

Wouldn't we be better off buying Lloyd Sam?

Who knows? Best ask the thread starter..........................

There was no rumour. It's just a mutual suggestion based on extensive football knowledge, suggested by BG & myself...

But also sign another left-back to not play?! So we could be 200% worse off.

If we weren't playing a new centre back pairing at the same time (or constantly change CBs) he might have put Chicksen in but CH might have felt he needed Calderons experience to balance. Basically it's all ifs, buts and maybes and we don't know, same as we have no idea of contract details so in conclusion Who knows?

Think he may be out of contract at Paykan - could it be worth us renewing our interest...?
