He wasn't that good at the Isle of Wight-his last British performance. In fact he was a total disappointment.

How do you know? I know I was there as I have some pictures and I remember Hendrix, The Who and some others, what they sounded like or much else. :shrug:

I couldn't wait for Father Christmas so I bought it today.

As I type this, Red House is booming through the house in glorious Dolby 5.1 sound.

f***ing marvellous scenes

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Red House is one of my favourites Hendrix songs, but I don't think the Woodstock version is his best live one. Didn't he break a string half way through but carry on anyway? I think San Diego is probably his best live version of Red House.

Best studio version for me has to be "Electric Church Red House" from "Blues". In fact you have inspired me to stick it on...

That was a good program on R4, refreshing to hear about the real Hendrix that real fans know about...

Some of his live performances are incredible. Not least his 'Johnny B.Goode' from Berkeley, and the BBC live studio 'Drivin' South'. Outrageous control of feedback, ease of chordal chops and integration to solo stringing.... Expression and wildness ;
