Dunno where you heard that from.

Any renal specialist will tell you that you can function perfectly well with one kidney and lead a normal life, including playing professional sports.

Professional sport or a contact professional sport

Maybe the important factor will be if he can get insurance to play

The story has been confirmed in The Argus. But they say he will still be able to play but unlikely to be fit for the start of next season...

Jimmy has been the highlight of a dismal 2009, a brilliant player, and badly missed as he was a leader as well as a flair player

Totally agree. Jim's injury just about sums up this wretched season. Damn thing's CURSED.

Here's wishing the lad a safe and speedy recovery and a return to the stripes soonest.

Blimey! Just read that. I take back what I said earlier on in the thread. I was obviously wrong.

It would seem that you can quite clearly play with just the one kidney. However I should imagine he is considered 'high-risk' unless he gets a transplant. I mean, imagine if he has a similar incident on the pitch and does the same thing to his other (and now only) kidney!
It doesn't bare thinking about :nono:

Im guessing you have heard this on 606 because some guy from the stockport county forum posted that his mates twice removed uncles sisters brothers wifes nephews best friends driving instructors great grandads godchilds pet stick insect heard this while smoking outside argos. completely fabricated.

Shit me, someone should tell Jimmy Mac as this 'completely fabricated' story has obviously got through to the doctors who have in fact gone and removed his kidney!! It's on the official site too.. I think you owe someone an apology. :wozza::bla::bla:

What difference does that make? What's going to happen, he's going to get hit where his kidney isn't?

Very bad news though.

From article on the seagulls website, it says that 10% of the population are walking around with only one kidney.

One in ten! :O You learn something new every day.

Agreed,it does sum up the season....Jim's arrival was just about the only good thing to happen at the club for some time.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
