Wonder what sort of politics he means ?

QUOTE]

Scunthorpe, although interested in signing him, are behaving like the Albion under DK and holding out until the 11th hour in the hope of getting a cheap or even free player?

Its a fact of any business to run efficently the books have to be balanced & perhaps Jim's going to be a victim of that.

There is plenty going on behind the scenes in this case.

Jim definitely wants to stay at the Albion though, although, bearing in mind his injury and lack of football since, he probably needs to play regularly to get back to top form.

I don't think sitting on the bench will necessarily do him any good and I don't think you can blame someone in his situation for wanting games.

Anyone doubting his work ethic or desire to work his way into the team though is WAY off the mark.

He also absolutely loves the Albion fans, particularly considering the welcome they gave him when he returned from injury and the messages of support he got during his time out.

I think the problem is, since McNulty has come back he has been very weak and had some pretty average games, Painter looks a better player so its difficult. We don't really owe him anything, unfortunately and I am not sure he is guaranteed football at a championship club, which, is what he wants if he is going to move?

The situation is pretty straightforward isn't it?

From Albion's POV: they have a good player they paid a significant sum for, but who has lost his first team place to a player the manager prefers. They are not under financial pressure to sell him, and would be happy to have him as back up, however would be equally happy to allow him to move on IF the RIGHT offer came in. They have no need to let him go on the cheap.

From Scunthorpe's POV: They like the player and would love to take him permanently, but do not have, or wish to spend, his market worth. They are stalling hoping to get their man as cheaply as possible.

From Jimmy Mac's POV: He likes it here, but rightly, feels he needs to play. He's probably not too keen on Scunthorpe as a new home, and I imagine, would welcome other offers. Ideally he'd like to be first choice here, but is probably resigned to the fact that this is not going to happen unless Painter suffers [another] injury.

I don't like the sound of this guy "POV". Sounds like a trouble-maker.

I don't understand why Gus (seemingly) has a problem with McNulty going out on loan. Where is the possible harm in sending him out somewhere on a short loan with an instant recall clause?

Its not a lack of loyalty on McNulty's part to want to get regular football, but a logical move that will benefit both the Albion and McNulty. If Gus does have this stance, he is needlessly shooting himself and the club in the foot.

McNulty needs match fitness and he won't get this playing 2 reserve games a month against the likes of Horsham and Crawley. He is a quality footballer who had a horrific injury and will take time to get back to the player he was, but in the long run he is a class act and if we were to sell him I think that would be VERY short-sighted.

Didn't see him play too much, but remember him having a quality game against Aston Villa, hope he doesn't go though. Seems weird we struggle for a decent left back for so long and now we have two goodens.

quality game against Villa ???????? he was very average and allowed ashley young to beat him in the air for there 2nd goal

You are taking the piss aren't you :nono:

He was dire, at fault for the first goal (gave the ball away cheapily) and did nothing of note the whole game

Came with alot of promise, but I've never been impressed
