Socks!
Maybe she mistook him for Dominic West. He's obviously not a coalition man.
Is this sexist ? How many checkout women would recognise a third div footballer ?
Wonder what sort of politics he means ?

Scunthorpe, although interested in signing him, are behaving like the Albion under DK and holding out until the 11th hour in the hope of getting a cheap or even free player?
Now, I'm trying to work out if you're complaining that too many women go to the footie, or that too many players are overpaid and therefore recognisable.
Didn't see him play too much, but remember him having a quality game against Aston Villa, hope he doesn't go though. Seems weird we struggle for a decent left back for so long and now we have two goodens.
There is plenty going on behind the scenes in this case.
Jim definitely wants to stay at the Albion though, although, bearing in mind his injury and lack of football since, he probably needs to play regularly to get back to top form.
I don't think sitting on the bench will necessarily do him any good and I don't think you can blame someone in his situation for wanting games.
Anyone doubting his work ethic or desire to work his way into the team though is WAY off the mark.
He also absolutely loves the Albion fans, particularly considering the welcome they gave him when he returned from injury and the messages of support he got during his time out.
More politics to it than that Huffer, but a decent summary of the starting point.
The situation is pretty straightforward isn't it?
From Albion's POV: they have a good player they paid a significant sum for, but who has lost his first team place to a player the manager prefers. They are not under financial pressure to sell him, and would be happy to have him as back up, however would be equally happy to allow him to move on IF the RIGHT offer came in. They have no need to let him go on the cheap.
From Scunthorpe's POV: They like the player and would love to take him permanently, but do not have, or wish to spend, his market worth. They are stalling hoping to get their man as cheaply as possible.
From Jimmy Mac's POV: He likes it here, but rightly, feels he needs to play. He's probably not too keen on Scunthorpe as a new home, and I imagine, would welcome other offers. Ideally he'd like to be first choice here, but is probably resigned to the fact that this is not going to happen unless Painter suffers [another] injury.
