Whilst our search for a striker goes on we have no problems with Center backs seemingly.. reports suggest we’re winning the race for Chancellor:

I was looking at this earlier.

I think they (and/or the original source) probably wanted to create an article with the words "Ben White" & "Leeds" for click-bait.

The article even says at the end "It would be odd to see Brighton go for Chancellor given their options there, and he doesn’t really fit the mould for Leeds given his lack of pace, so we’re sceptical of many parts in this rumour.".

Which to me translates as "we know this is bollocks but you gotta go for that clickbait, amiright?!".

Am sure it’s nonsense - however the only thing that gives it any sort of credibility is that, with Duffy going, we have lost a huge physical presence at the back for when we need it. Whilst we are going to have a great footballing back 3 or 5, I do worry about our ability to defend set pieces and also in certain games when the opposition are going to lump it up to a big centre forward (ie Newcastle and Carroll last season). He (or someone like him) could be very useful In this scenario - just to send on to win all the headers.

As I say, am sure it’s rubbish but, if not, imagine this is the thinking behind it.

Not out of the question if we want to continue to play 3 at the back.

Sure we have Veltman and Burn, but if they are needed then we have no little cover at left and right back.

I can see Chancellor being brought in - and under no illusions that he will be anything more than a squad player down the pecking order earning a good payday.

Out of our budget is Chancellor. Bloom isn't Rishi enough. We should bring back Hammond.

Might be a handy back up player who can be thrown on if we're facing an aerial bombardment. Like Stat said, we're going to have to defend against Carroll for 20 minutes or so.
