Agree. According to The Times, he was the worst player on the pitch & the only footballer to be rated as 4/10.
Without wearing ones Albion blinkers, if we want to challenge for the playoffs or higher JFC should be nowhere near the first 11. Harsh, but fair.

He only came on after 86 minutes and had a huge impact on the game.

The flair appears to have been coached out of him, as he has gone backwards (inadvertant pun there) on that front. Remember the Saints game? Maybe he can return to being more adventurous now,

Exactly, has anybody thought that the 5 yard sideways and backwards passes have been coached into him suppressing his natural game ? He is a very good footballer, but he must be allowed to express himself.

You don't need to suspect, you can check the match day thread. There were a few posts from people not excited by his introduction.

He was only on for 10 mins at most!!! I am no JFC fan but that's harsh especially as he made the penalty.

And Doncaster away under Oscar, Blackburn at home and Wigan away. Then Oscar started using him as a defensive midfielder and Hyypia used him in the 2 or a 4-2-3-1, both roles he was completely unsuited to. Not really surprising he struggled, was it?

Ince 79 minutes, rated 5/10

Kacaniklic 63 minutes rated 5/10

Dembele 84 minutes rated 5/10

JFC 86 minutes rated 4/10

Says it all .....

Yeah. It says that they've given ridiculous ratings to players that were barely on the pitch long enough to make an impact.
And, as is usual with these ratings, the person wasn't at the game.

Young developing player does well in cameo role in highly confident attacking team.

as oppose to

Young developing player struggles when expected to be the engine room of an under performing team with no confidence

Who'd of thunk it :).

you must have been up the north end then?

I was normally under the scaffolding/6' x 6' wooden hut with the camera on the top.
I was particularly famous on one occasion on Match Of The Day when Jimmy Hill picked my voice out (GET IT OVER!!!!!!!!!!)
Only for the team to ignore my instructions and score a ten man passing goal ffs!

I'm pleased for him. Any moments that allow him to be the creative presence he even briefly once was will give him faith to fulfill his potential, one would hope. A smidgeon of maturity will have him calmly ignore the words of those who huff and puff with whiffy impatience and find that blend within of sturdiness and skillful certainty that will have him fight for a midfield spot.

Let's hope so , he looked such an exciting prospect back then

Was there anyone who thought: "Excellent, JFC's coming on........he'll tear them a new one!"

Great pass though. For once.

Exactly, more fool the Times!!! Also, it wasn't just a slide rule pass, he picked the ball and carried it forward some way before releasing KLL.
Has anyone reading this EVER used a slide rule?

And for those who haven't, did you realise it's actually a calculating instrument, rather than something for measuring distances?

[And while we're doing lazy journalistic cliches, when did you last see a CARBON copy?]
