Where is Luke Shaw in that squad, has he been left out?

I'd love us to get hold of Matt Targett on loan next season to give him some game time at left back.

Good luck to JFC I hope he makes the final squad, brings back some form for the start of next season. Too many people have written him off already.

Man united won I guess.

I hope that sets him back in playing for the seniors now

Ahh bugger, that's me out then.

Christ, do the BBC bid for ANYTHING these days ?

No , they have to prioritise their budget for top quality family entertainment shows such as The Voice and Strictly Come Dancing

Im pretty sure he has played in every England squad apart from the U19s starting at the U16 level ,He was picked and played by southgate to do a job , he did that job and did it very well if you look at his match stats in the games he played , no reason that he would now be discarded just to let bigger name players step in and screw up all the hard work put in to qualify in the 1st place , i am bloody delighted for the lad and good luck to him , if he is dumped then i would be astounded and no doubt Jake himself would be devastated .

Good enough for England, not good enough for second division Brighton.

It's a funny old game, or maybe we're just full of shit.

I think it's the latter. When I have watched him in this tournament he has fitted in well with their style of play. He plays a good holding/link-up role and rarely gives the ball away. They play with some quick wingers and forwards; something we are devoid of. It's no surprise he looks out of place in our team.

Cant see him making the final 23. There are some far better players on that list.

If the remit was simply to pick the best 23 individual talents, then you might well be right. But as it is to pick a settled SQUAD, that offers flexibility, and continuation of a fine qualifying campaign, you'll hopefully be proved wrong.

He was ever present in the starting XI in the latter stages of the qualifying campaign, the crucial two-legged play-off, and the prestige freindlies since. He has every chance of making the cut.

The three keepers have to go, so essentially 4 outfield players will be cut from that list. Probably one defender, one midfielder and two strikers.

JFC is IN

Good for him, I still however believe that he isnt good enough and this just shows the lack of English talent.

You can't have it both ways. Either there are far better players on that list, or there is a lack of English talent.

Surprised we only went with 3 strikers, assume that means a 4-3-3 formation, rather than 4-4-2.

My prediction of the cut being 1 defender, 1 midfielder and 2 strikers was close.

Was 1 defender (Dier) and 3 strikers (Bamford, Afobe, Woodrow).

Possibly would have been as per my guess, but for an injury to Bamford, letting in Loftus-Cheek.

He'll play and the tactic will be to hopefully bore the opposition into submission.

You not watched the under 21 side much then, like to play the ball around and score goals with JFC a key member of that
