Just got back from Thailand and never had jet lag this bad before! not slept in over 30hrs and as much as I try still can't bloody sleep, even with the help of booze and the wife's natural sleep stuff. Any advice?
:annoyed:

Don't go to sleep!!! Wait until late this afternoon to go to sleep.

One word of warning. I managed to sort my sleep patterns out fairly quickly after hitting NZ, but it took nearly 2 weeks for my stomach to line up with the clocks. I wasn't hungry during the day, but at night I was starving. It was a real pisser!

My brother does this a lot and his remedy is that you must stay up out of bed until after midnight on the day you get home then go to bed as normal and according to him you will sleep and get up as normal at your normal time..

I travel to all parts of the globe on a very regular basis and without question the best thing I use if not able to sleep is a tablet called Nytol. It comes in 2 types but both are herbal based. The blue version is by far the best. Puts you the sleep within an hour and no after effects even if you get woken up early.

Mellotonin for me. Not available in UK, but available off the shelf in the US.

But I'd say, try and get in a normal routine. I.e going to bed at normal time, eating at normal times.

This. If you can get hold of this stuff you will be right as rain. Get as much sunshine/daylight as you can during the day too, always seems to help me.

Another vote for this - works like a charm and, as you say, you can just buy it over the counter in the States
