Shut up you tit
He was among the few politicians in the 1980s to call for WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED MUCH LATER - a dialogue with Republicans and a peace deal. If he'd have been listened to back then, many lives both Irish and British could have been saved.
If we had listened to utter right-wing shit ***** like you, we'd still be at war and people would still be dying
Now now, I know you get all excitable and can't cope with opposing opinions. Wouldn't dream of calling you an utter left-wing, terrorist sympathising shit*** know matter how tempting.
All for the peace process but rather those who had the power to change things did the talking rather than delusional fools who sympathised with terrorists and their cause. This myth you and others that turn a blind eye to his past like to peddle/believe that he was a trailblazer for the peace process is utter garbage.
The man who voted against the Anglo Irish agreement.
"Does the hon. Gentleman accept that some of us oppose the agreement for reasons other than those that he has given [i.e. Unionist]? We believe that the agreement strengthens rather than weakens the border between the six and the twenty-six counties, and those of us who wish to see a united Ireland oppose the agreement for that reason"

He was at best a gullible mouthpiece for SinnFein/IRA. He can't even bring himself to specifically condemn the IRA even now.
