I see this as more of a failing on the BBC's part than anything else - surely they have a list of banned songs that must never be played? Neither this chap or Clarkson should have been sacked.

Yep, totally wrong. This DJ looks like to have made a mistake and offered an apology whereas Clarkson meant mischief by using three takes to 'muffle' the word when he knew it was wrong. Unfortunately the DJ doesn't get the BBC millions of pounds a year.

The regional DJ who played the Sun Has Got His Hat On and subsequently chose to step down or be sacked was actually offered his job back but declined citing that "The whole incident has exacerbated a stress related condition I suffer from". Possibly holding out for some stress related compo?
