I can't believe all these closet jazz fans coming out of the woodwork. I thought I would be the only one. You never know what the next persons passion is.

I struggle with jazz. I went to Ronnie Scott's for my friends 21st a few years back. It was dead cool inside and the music was alright...but people clapped in the strangest places. Only I clapped at the end of each song, everyone else clapped at random times throughout the songs. WTF was that about?!

Does Nina Simone count as jazz? If she does, I recommend her. She's ace.

So much unexplored ground in the world of jazz, whilst in mourning for Gil Scott Heron, perhaps my all time favourite artist, I come across a new artist, to me at least, from the 70's, with a great LP on the Cadet label (who signed Terry Callier). Archie Whitewater
