Yes, that is very bad, so eight on to one, it doesn't get much worse. On this, it does look like he is mixed up with a bad bunch. The original poster has a fair point to discuss this in my opinion.

Who is making things up? The media currently seem reluctant to report on his background despite it being widely covered in the press at the time of his conviction (and incredibly lenient sentence). Information like that could have swayed some of those who’ve donated to the Gofund Me campaign to have questioned their donation before it was made or not made one at all.

What is this gofund me page for? They seem to pop up for anything now.
I unfortunately know someone with terminal cancer and his wife is ill too and he has three young children to support so to donate for this lovely but very unlucky family is important, I hope the family will get through this as best they can.
I can't understand why this lad needs a fund raiser, can anyone help explain please?

According to the official blurb on the page it’s to “get him home”. It doesn’t go into any other detail about how the money will be used.

I’ve no idea how it’s going to help when he’s still missing, other than flying some family members out there to help with the search maybe?

That's one of the sources of speculation, no real reason given other than to find him, so plenty of internet theories, some plausible others completely bonkers.

Seems a very odd thing to do, surely it will unfold in the next few days. Maybe their Dixon of Dock Green, Poirot or Colombo, will piece it altogether very soon.
