Didn't actually do much (if anything) wrong against Everton to be fair.I reckon Bart will be our cup and or European keeper and take over the spot of No.1 by Christmas. Steele is good, but he performs too many Everton Performances.

I think Sanchez is a better shot stopper, but in terms of all their all round game, Steele is better. He's a better keeper than Sanchez and I stick by that.
Only when pigs start flyingEngland call up ?
We closed Sa down relentlessly in the first half. Particularly Enciso. I think it was a plan to fluster him, and it worked.I’d love to know the thinking behind signing him - whose idea it was, etc. It’s a fascinating story.
Also, such a contrast yesterday between Steele and José Sa, who’s supposed to be quite good on the ball. Sa sent several passes into the stands, and generally looked flustered every time he had the ball at his feet. His defence probably don’t help.
Plus, as an aside - on a couple of occasions when Sa tried to find Neto, only to over hit the pass, Neto went mental - waving his arms in frustration. Contrast to the one occasion (I recall) that Steele over hit a pass to Estupuñan….the latter just got on with the game. No remonstrations.
Bart is clearly seen as the long term successor plus we must factor in the way in which RDZ requires a keeper to play, he’s already got a good range of passing but what separates Steele from all these goalkeepers who can pass is his footwork and ability to play in tight areas through the press not just long Hollywood passes.Talking with the Bobkin Jnr during MotD last night, I was wondering why the GK role isn't rotated like pretty much every other position on the pitch.
The lineups of the two league games were quite different and yet Bart didn't get any minutes. Is it simply the case that it's too much of a risk to change keeper unless they are injured/out of form?
I think Steele is great but Onana is superb with the ball at his feet. After Neuer, probably the best I've ever seen at playing out with the ball.Made me laugh watching the Man United Tottenham game last night every time Onana played a half decent pass Neville sounded like he was having a threesome with Margot Robbie and Jennifer Aniston.
His passing range and ability on the ball isn’t even close to Steele, but if you’re bought for 60m then you must automatically be better I guess
Depends what you mean by ‘ball at his feet’I think Steele is great but Onana is superb with the ball at his feet. After Neuer, probably the best I've ever seen at playing out with the ball.
Great tip over from that header in the second half.I think Sanchez is a better shot stopper, but in terms of all their all round game, Steele is better.
Yeah, I get all that, just didn't really understand why, in general, GK seems to be the least 'tinkered with' position on the pitch.Bart is clearly seen as the long term successor plus we must factor in the way in which RDZ requires a keeper to play, he’s already got a good range of passing but what separates Steele from all these goalkeepers who can pass is his footwork and ability to play in tight areas through the press not just long Hollywood passes.
Hopefully Bart is getting better and willing to learn everyday in training, unlike a certain Spaniard.
