Love him. I have a Sunderland mate who said, when we signed him, he was the worst goalkeeper he had ever seen.

Comes across as an incredibly genuine and likeable chap and has been through some tough times in his career, appears to be a good character behind the scenes who is greatly appreciated by teammates and staff alike.
I’ll admit to being slightly nervous when he came in for Sanchez in the PL but his performances since doing so have been top drawer and I’m equally happy and confident now to have either starting… in RDZ we trust…

Very good interview.
Quite astonishing what he has achieved recently.
He comes across as a very impressive human being, exactly the sort of character you need in the dressing room and in goal (but perhaps not a return to his central midfield position!).
Another member of our senior player group who seem absolutely besotted with RDZ (see Lallana interviews too).

He is fortunate to be a GK, the longevity of players in that position is greater for obvious reasons. He joined us in 2018, not many outfield players would have stuck around for 5 years waiting for their chance. Having said that, the position he’s in is extremely exclusive. You have to admire the will and determination. He is becoming a favourite as most decent keepers tend to be…

Do you remember when the Monday Night Club gave our players or Barber a token two minutes? This was justifiably long, and an insight into RDZ.

Yes, really worth a listen for those who missed it on BBC Sounds - Steele really going big on the togetherness of the squad and also mentioning how he has been blown away not just by the likes of Julio and Facundo, but also the ones coming along behind (presumably the likes of Moran and Ayari)
