Gillespie obviously is a good bowling coach and is well connected to help us sign players. However, some of our performances in the last two years have been pathetic and I wouldn't have been opposed to replacing him. Next year he must get us promoted or he should go.

I think, long term and with the help of a specialist batting coach this will prove the right move.

The potential is there. It's not been a total disaster in the 4 day game, just a partial one. With Head in and hopefully more to follow I think he'll get it right. No point binning him off and starting again at this stage
