what?

Did you ever speak to Kitson?

he was desparate to play and was extremely frustrated that he was constantly getting injured.

Albion knew he was injury prone when he came here!

The difference is Dodd knows how to use the local press to get people on side.

It will be good news for us if he comes back, I think he'll do good in League 1 (if fit)

Would be an asset if fit. As long as we don't pay if he's crocked would be a good deal. :drink:

Fair comment. That's why, like Dodd, he came out and stated that having only been able to play a few matchesfor us, he would be prepared to repay us by being paid on a monthly or match by match basis is it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one who felt that Kitson was 'sciving'. I'm sure he genuinely wanted to play for us, and was as frustrated as we were that he couldn't.

My point was that Dodd has shown an excellent attitude in looking to repay us for last season. I'm not aware that Kitson offered the same. But as you obviously spoke to him, perhaps you can tell me otherwise?

I agree with you 100%.

I always think it is a shame when someone comes here and because of injury cannot fulfill his contract. I tend to feel that with El Turi. A great shame really.

With regards to Kitson, Yes I chatted to him a couple of times and he was frustrated by the reaction of some sections of the crowd who were expecting him to be a Bobby Zamora, which with his injuries he was never going to be. When he did get a chance, he was so desparate to impress, he suffered from the "trying too hard and end up looking crap" syndrome. He loved it down here and really believed we were going places in spite of the surroundings.

Way out west
The attitude of a seasoned pro, cannot be faulted, could be useful on a pay as you play deal, if he plays and does the biz in the first few games then sign him for the season.

It was a shame, I think Kitson could have been a real asset to us. Some of the stuff he got was well over the top. Unfortunatley, as you say, many of us expected him to be the new BZ' and got frustrated when he was constantly injured. The idea from some people that he didn't want to play was just bollocks though.

none of the Brighton players liked Kitson and his attitude (thats a bonifde FACT btw).

As for Dodd thats good enws to me, if he can prove his fitness then he can only benefit the younger players aswell as provide decent backup, or even starting place.

dodd on a month to month is good business, IMO. It gives us a small but versatile defensive squad.

LB's Lynch/Mayo/Dodd
R.B's El Abd/Dodd/Reid and Hart(if needs be)
CB's Butters/Hinsh/El Abd/Lynch(?)

A nice mix of youth and experience there. I don't see any real need for now further strengthening that area of the team, so we can focus on finding that elusive target amn and sorting out the midfield.

Hope he has now got over his injury problems.

He'd be excellent to have around next season and good for the youngsters to learn from.

GNLF, I think due to McGhee's selection policy, you've missed a few options there. Surely Dodd can be CB too and you don't need a question mark against Lynch, he IS a centre back, he's just been playing out of position!

Good news, he is a great player and pay-as-you-play is perfect if he is expected to be injured often.

Excellent attitude and a companion for Guy Butters on his daily journey, sounds good to me. Bit worried that he WANTS to play for McGhee, I thought the players hated him

But he's ok he's white.... :lolol:

i would still sign a left back like dave mulligan released from donny.
lynch young and out of position, but looks a good prospect.
dodd would be out of position.
mayo is not very good imo.

if we had mulligan on a free the international player with experiance. then our defence would be solid.

dodd......el abd/butters....hinsh.....mulligan.

i do think dodd on pay as you play would be a very good deal.
