Not sure they are called differently at all? 'comfortably volleys home' doesn't necessarily mean volleys home without controlling it / teeing it up first

Obviously now we've seen the video, it's clearly a volley. One motion only, so the report you were reading was probably written by an American!

Great strike for the 2nd, Matt Ryan slightly too far off his line but that's being ultra critical.
It's a fair observation though, he does seem to take up a very aggresive position generally. At Leicester it made his feeble attempt to save the second goal look worse because he's not able to get there due to his height. Presumably, he's trying to cure his lack of height with being on the front foot. A bit like Loris at Tottenham, but not as good.
