So, assuming that at the end of the month we remain strong promotion candidates and that Solly is unavailable for at least a while and that Bong, Kaz, Baldock and Rosenior are either still out or not yet match fit, who do we think should be on the target list to keep our momentum going through the second half of the season?

My sense is that we might need to focus less on a striker (assuming Wilson stays) and more on the midfield and defence. If we were really able to consider splashing the cash on Calleri then are there more important positions to sort now?

And of course, I'm aware that it is very easy to spend someone else's money!

If Solly is out for a reasonably long time I would think that we will sign Van La Parre and a cover left back possibly letting Chicksen Holla and even possibly Crofts go on transfer or on loan along with JFC.

Calleri.

Van La Parra.

Left back loan to see us through until early Feb when Bong should be back.

Towell already signed.

Fell sorry for our Tony. All this means more spending in January, what with us still running with the pack.

Funny game isn't it, I feel he always looks a threat plus he knows where the goal is.

I agree. On top of that, he seems to be able to keep going for the full 90 minutes but I must concede, he does occasionally get caught in possession but on the whole I really like him.

I like Murphy a lot but having lost two wingers already this season you'd think that we need JVP plus another to give us the depth we need to get through to the end of the season. A specialist left back is also critical in my view. Even with Bong and Rosenior fit we are vulnerable to further injury or loss of form.

The difficulty is not knowing when we expect the injured back. Stricker and winger for me, oerhaps a holding

Robust squad coping amazingly well with major, long term injuries to many highly influential players. If we get no one, we could be ok, but if Uncle Tony wants to "belt and braces" our position at the top then:

- Striker (Wilson scored but is still learning his trade. A lot to ask him to score goals for two thirds of a season to get us up)
- Left back cover - we don't know when our options will be back or if they will stay fit.
- Cover for Stephens/Kayal (v Preston we started with Ince/Crofts and look what happened there!) - bound to get a niggle or sending off or a booking ban soon
