stick to your principles.

Dont go there.

Going there accepts what those hunts did to us

I can only think those that have been there never went to the goldstone

I don't expect these Johnny come latelies to understand but to post shit about why some of us can't stand going near that retail park pisses me off.
Nothing will ever erase my memories of the place which is why I don't want to look at Toys R f***ing us or DFS f***ing beds.
I can still picture the walk down thru Hove Park, buying a Gulls Eye on the corner then along to the Seagull Tavern to meet my friend Guppy for a couple of pre match libations before going to the ground at 2.55 and into our seats.
Or when I was a bit younger and the famous North Stand surge when if you were unlucky there was a pile up and everyone landed on you like when we beat Liverpool in the Cup.
Or when it kicked off like when Spurs came down in 1978 and I shat myself before running into the North West corner.
Or the time Chelsea came down big time in 1983 and absolutely took the North Stand and Chris Hutchings got nicked and then we signed him.
So many more memories but none so more than that f***ing miserable afternoon in April 1997 when it was the end and as everyone walked away grabbing bits of pitch and stuff but knowing that we would never go back and see the Albion there and how heartbreaking it was to see f***ing bulldozers there a few weeks later ripping the place down.
So that is why we f***ing hate those binfestbinfestbinfestbinfests Bellotti and Archer and which is why anyone who doesn't understand why people can't face looking at that f***ing binfestbinfestbinfestbinfesty retail park can f*** off too.

Just off to DFS at the Goldstone! I'm a regular shopper at the Retail Park. If I DIDN'T shop there would they turn it back into a football ground?

(Just editing to say I first went to the Goldstone in the 1965/66 season so I'm not a johhny-come-lately. But the ground's GONE!)

brighton, actually
any better online, (check kelkoo for a start..

and who in their right mind wants to spend close to a grand on a tv?!

the one we have at home (matsui 28'' I think) is at least 5 years old, cost about £250 at the time, and still great clear picture.

you can get a f/view box for about £20 nowadays, so dont sweat on that.

Hope the springs on what you buy go through ya jacksy.
:lolol: I honestly admire the pig-headed obstinancy of those who in quixotic fashion refuse to shop there. I've supported enough boycotts in my time not to appreciate the gesture.

I'm sure those people will be sorry to hear that the entire complex was absolutely PACKED. We didn't even try to get in the car park, we ended up parking in Goldstone Lane and then walked past the programme seller on the corner of Goldstone Lane and the Old Shoreham Road, past the entrance to the Away fans enclosure in the north east corner and came in through the Burger King turnstile.

I actually think even the pro-boycott folk can eat in Burger King with a clear conscience. Given where that is, right in the corner, it was never part of the Goldstone site anyway. It is where the derelict house stood for years, behind the NE corner.

75% of them are not Brighton fans, 24% of them have moved to the City because its trendy to, 1% are there because they are complaining that they have had springs go up there chads.

Everyone deals with this one differently and I think it doesnt make them resent bellotti or archer any more or less than the nxt fan.

I presonally cant go any were near the retail park due to some sense of respect/loyalty for my early childhood memorys.

Starting from getting free tickets to the south stand from worthing boys club(cancelled when liam brady came, I beleive...grrrr) marvelling at the north stand infront of me.

Then throughout the years trying one way or another to scrape £3 pound together to watch players like vegan edwards, kennedy(i was only one of my friends who rated him),foster, beeney up until the heroics of storer/reinault.

Goldstone gave me my favourite eva strike partnership of maskell/baird

The ground gave me so much and I feel betraying it is not something I can do

most serious thing I have said/written in years and to a group of complete strangers. haha
