Dylan Thomas put it very well:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

RIP Jane.

Very sad news, the good die young but the nasty bastards seem to live forever.

a sad end, though what might she have achieved if she had started these charity things, before the cancer was even diagnosed? people seem to leave 'good' things in their life too late, then expect a medal.

Thats a bit harsh. I don't think she did these "good things" to get any medals more to prove to herself that cancer wasn't going make her put her life on hold.

Are you aware that some nutters in Yorkshire decided after a year that she was faking it all for publicity? She received hate mail and nasty phone calls.
She was given 6 months to live and managed to live for 4 years. That in itself is a remarkable achievement without all the extra charity fund raising that she did. It's unbelievable that people can still find something to criticise.
