Where you seeing that? If we don’t bring anyone in that would leave us short at centre half. Surprising is true.

In the Blackburn equivalent of the argus. Not sure he’s good enough as didnt feature much in pre season.

Ostigard/white/burn/Cucurella out, and only colwill in for centre backs ?? (And now van hecke)

It's in quite a few places...

In tomorrow's match day 20 we have to squeeze in Maupay and Estupinan, with Sarmiento out.

Either Alzate misses out in which case we get NSC reckoning he'll be off, or van Hecke will miss out - which will feed into this rumour even if it's an unconnected coincidence.

Can't see Maupay bing involved. From last week's squad Estupinan replaces van Hecke, that's all.

Going on loan to Sunderland
Bit disappointing if true - not really any sort of step up. However, if as rumoired he's signed a new deal (his old one was due to end 2023, with no optional year) it's not so bad if hhe's due to maybe feature for us next season. Shame Blackburn didn't get promoted - a year on the PL with them would have been the ideal next step (as would a loan to one of the newly promoted cubs),
Wonder how it will go for Alex Neill with another of Brighton's very promising youngsters. Better this time? (he got sacked last time!)

Not sure expecting to loan out our youngsters to newly promoted PL teams is realistic. For the same reasons we have tended not to do the same

Van Hecke on loan is a surprising one. On the basis that we need 5 CBs, it must mean Clarke has finally done enough to convince GP he’s ready for the PL. Being a natural lefty may have helped, and he can’t be that shabby having won PotS twice in 3 seasons of Championship loans.

I totally agree with the presumption that Clarke is now staying.

We do now lend out defenders to newly promoted teams - albeit not youngsters, and probably as back up (or for coming on for two minutes to help see a game out, as today). A left-side view might even have been a loan to the SPL for CL/Europa League experience.

Agree Van Hecke out on loan again would be a surprise - especially as I'm pretty sure it has been suggested that Clarke is one of the players heading out - loan or permanent this summer. Wasn't it from GP himself? Clarke is a left footed CB - just how good is young Colwill, I wonder?

perhaps, but everything so far this window has pointed to clarke leaving. maybe grahams happy with the four CBs we currently have and trusts turns or tsoungi to step in if we get in a pickle in terms of numbers. turns in particular was very impressive in the swansea cup game last season

I'd much rather those two gents went out on loan - at their stage of development they're about reaady for that. Are you counting the untried at PL level Colwill as our 4th. CB? - bit of a leap of faith that! He might be great - but if he's our no.4, I'd wat to keep one of Clarke or Van Hecke around as well.
