17 yr Southampton midfielder played today against man city. But our own young midfielder jfc who has played for England and shown when he has played he is up to the championship. Anyone on this site who thinks sparrow dicker and Harley offer more than him are mad. I could understand sending him on loan if we actually had 3 or 4 players with better ability in front of him in the squad.

Have to agree with you about him being a better bet than Dicker at the moment. In Gus we trust though

Agree with this, when JFC played last year he proved he could score goals and play at that level. Given more games instead of Dicker towards the end of the season I believe we would have won more games and who knows where we would have finished in the league. Loaning him out seemed strange to me. Let us hope he comes back after Christmas and straight into the team.

May be good enough, we shall see, but is he strong enough. Some players like Rooney and Whiteside ex Man were as big as full grown men at 18, JFC isn't a big strong lad

You were not at the match yesterday, Dicker was brilliant and created lots...time for everyone on here to get off his back!

So you've taken two completely different players and two different clubs under 2 completely different situations and 2 different squads but have made a comparison because they are the same age?

Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian international and has been loaned out by Chelsea despite them only having 2 other strikers. Were they also wrong because Saints played a 17 year old?

He needs Crofts and Bridcutt in the side to cover his defensive liabilities though, as evidenced at Swindon. There's no real pressure on him with Crofts in the side. JFC could flourish in the same position
