Enjoyed it yesterday afternoon, nice big seats with headrests in an almost empty auditorium.

Saw it for the second time this week (my sons wanted to see it) and knowing what happens at the end did seem to heighten the impact of the conclusion to this film - I guess going in cold you are just wondering how he will get around the situation, but I got a heightened sense of his sacrifice.

Bit late to the party seeing this. Finally watched it and enjoyed it but disappointed too, it seemed like they really cleared the decks with this one, I hope it
does not ruin anyone's enjoyment by dropping this in but I was sad to see Felix Leiter bite the bullet and surprised to see Bloefeld offed as well ! There was an easy solution to Bond being " Infected " with Nanobots, Q probably could have re-engineered a fresh batch of nanobots to eat the ones infecting Bond, job done, then he could sail off to the Caribbean with a bright future ahead.

Great action sequences and nice to see the shithead double agent ******* that shot Felix meet a miserable end but, as mentioned above, the shooting scenes in the bunker were getting ridiculous and Remi Malik does not have a tenth of the screen presence of Christophe Waltz ! Not sure how they can re-boot this from this point after the ending we just had.

Craig will be a hard act to follow too !

If you have been reading this far down you would know pretty much all of this anyway.

What did I say…… the new bond film is called Cocktopussy……… where he changes during the course of the film from a man to a woman.

Watched it last night, Bond is dead, they can’t bring him back from the dead and a new character won’t be James Bond.

For me it’s all over , Bonds dead franchise is dead, if they resurrect Bond I won’t be going to watch a ‘ pretend ‘ Bond no matter what race/gender they are.

Thanks James Bond good films in the past but for me it’s all over now.

I am a bit late watching this. But agree with this sentiment.

I have loved bond all my life but it really did die for me in this film.

It’s over, just like Star Wars.

Time to let go.

The fact that they cleaned up so many of the main characters is pretty sad.

It's still quite fun remembering all the famous actors that got to play Blofield and Felix. I think Craig has been an excellent Bond and it's a pity the main story arc dies with him.

The podcast Screen Drafts (where they compile 'best of' lists of films to have the (usually) 7 best films on a topic/genre etc) have one of their superdrafts, where they order all the official james bond films (and allowed one of the 60s casino royale or never say never again to give an even number of films). It has player out over the last two episodes and is manic. First episode was 4h40m, episode two is 5h37m. The 'drafters' are quite diverse in their tastes, (eg half love moonraker, half hate it). Each of the four drafters takes turns placing the films, there are 'vetos' and 'veto overrides' that other drafters can use to try to shape the list.

I've only listened to the first episode (26-14) but it is one of the best episodes. Since there are probably a few bond fans on here, I thought I'd highlight it https://screendrafts.libsyn.com/

One of those bits from your youth that you've forgotten and haven't really spotted the influence of in later life is, for me, a fancy of the girl that Jaws ends up with:

I suppose it partly explains why my wife is 2ft 6 and of my daily threats of crushing her wee head unless she keeps on loving me.

Richard Kiel an interesting guy, wrote a published biography on an American civil rights guy, scared of heights so didn't do the Sao Paolo cable car fight scene, the stuntman who played him slipped during the fight on the outside of the cable car and had no safety line attached, quite amazing health and safety! The Jaws scenes had to be filmed quickly as he was in a lot of pain wearing the metal teeth.

Still in Brighton
Watched it again in HD via a download from a Czech website* and it stood up well to a 2nd viewing. Still love the locations and the motorbike/car chases. Still feel Rami Malek is weak/lacking character and some talky scenes on the island are over long and desperately needed better editing towards the end. It's a good film although despite having many Bond film cliches (which I loved) often didn't feel like a Bond film (which I didn't).

* I did have first viewing at the Dukes with cake so I don't feel too bad at naughty downloading it for the elderly parents to enjoy at home.

West is BEST
Having rewatched all the Craig Bond’s over the last fortnight CR remains my favourite but Spectre is now my second favourite. I saw it at the cinema and then not until last week. It really holds its own and is superior to most of his other outings. I encourage a rewatch, it’s much better than it was ever given credit for.
It has the “past catching up with Bond” arc but doesn’t let that get in the way of a solid adventure. Mallory is great in it, his best turn yet and the train scene, car chase and mountain side plane/car chase is fab. And Andrew Scott plays a great villain within.
I wave the flag for Spectre, a great Bond film.
