Why though? Noone is dumb enough to believe them, bar a small minority, and surely nobody is thick enough to seriously believe James Beattie would come here. The guy is probably on well over 20/25k a week, and scored 7 in 16 games in Premiership 08/09, and despite his spat with Pulis still played a number of times last year.
And as for Darius Vassell, dont even get me started.

I really don't think this is THAT much out of the question. The guy is at the end of his career, slowing down. coming to a top league one side by the sea is what people always used to do in the goldstone days

......and we haven't spunked very much cash on players yet so wages wouldn't be a huge problem I suspect. I just think Bloom would love to get a name in as a statement of intent, but maybe that's for next season.
