What do people think about Jake Robinson this season?

We were discussing him on Saturday after the game, personally I think he's been disapointing.

What do you guys think?

He is still a kid, too early to judge. Not everyone his age has the physique of Rooney, and he needs to build up his strength to hold off defenders.

I saw him play against Manchester City U-17's last year in the FA Youth Cup and he was the best player on the park.

If people give him a chance I am sure he will come through. However the nature of the Withdean Whingers is to crucify first, ask questions later.

I think he has been average at best, He has missed a number of very good chances and bottles out of tackles, even when it would mean he would score.
He does run around alot but so does Mcphee and least he can hold the ball up.

Saying that he could become good but at this time no one knows if he is championship of county league standard.

I wasn't having a go at him I was just trying to find out what other people thought about him. So much has been said about the lad in the youth team I've just been slightly disapointed with the end product this year.

You need to chill out a bit man!

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
If he was any more advanced at this age then he would probably be playing for a better team. The talent is there, he is still growing and needs to bulk up a bit.

Expectations were huge as we have been missing a goal scoring striker for a long time now.

He will improve and you mustn't foprget that this is his first full season in the first team

I think most would agree he has been disappointing so far, but shown flashes of brilliance (hitting the bar on saturday) and real potential. I have no doubt that in time he will become a very good player but he is still young. For him to be where he is now is a great achievement, you can't expect the world of the lad just yet.

Fair comments, but at what age does Mcghee say sorry lad your just not good enough? if thats the case.

I honestly think a month or two on loan at a league two club where he will get booted into the air by defenders will make him a stronger player.

If that shot had gone in, we would be talking about goal of the season! And what a star striker the kid is.

I totally agree with Lokki, definite potential for this division, just needs more experience, and a team that can pass the ball on the deck to him, or a midfielder that can put the ball behind the defender for him to chase.

He is no better or worse than any other member at the moment has good games and bad and i think is a worthy member of the team.. Do we have a go at Hammond if he goes missing and he is supposedly older and more mature .

I think MM has picked him on merit in the belief that he was the best available option, therefore I think MM already thinks he is good enough despite his age.

I think that as he is young it is more than likely that he will continue to improve. If so then we will have a very good player on our books. Not sure we can afford to loan out any squad players at the moment, can't we just kick him in training instead?

Auditor agrees with kinky shock ..and no mention of spurs !!

Jake has potential ...needs to improve first touch/close control in my opinion

Dandyman

In London village.
IMO he remains a very promising young player, but one that is probably not yet fully physically or mentally matured. His best role for the moment is thus most likely to be as an impact player coming from the bench.

He needs to bring his 30 yard shots down half an inch.
