Bit harsh to say he's not on form. He's not being given a chance to be in form!

I admit he is hit and miss, and that you can never GUARANTEE a performance from him. However, I'd rather take the risk with someone like Robinson, who at least has the talent to produce something brilliant, than play people out of position or people who just aren't good enough.

Maybe he doesn't believe in himself, I don't know him so I couldn't say. But I think he should. Do you really think he looks any more "useless" than anyone else though, even when off form? There are one or two I would say look out of their depth every time they play, but Robinson? Really?

you maybe right he hasnt been given the chance to be on form, but he should have found some consistency in 130 appearances.

He is better on the right of midfield than Virgo, but I dont know about anyone else that has played in that position for us this year.

In my opinion only Hawkins has looked more useless than Robinson when out of form. I do believe that Robinson at the moment looks out of his depth, but whats to say he cant change that? I think he has been given enough chances personally.

Maybe everyone expects Robinson to be the player they built him up to be so are expecting loads, when he cant actually deliver that, which makes people think he is more shit than he really is.

If he was someone who we didnt expect to produce anything good, then maybe he wouldnt get the level of stick he does.

For me, I dont think he will make it, but would love him to prove me wrong. He shouldnt have slagged Wilkins off in the press, he shouldnt have licked Mickys arse in the same article, because now he looks silly when he cant get into a matchday squad with only ONE striker in it.

how can you expect him to have confidence and perform when
A) he's never played, and sometimes isnt even on the bench, and
B) when he does come on as a sub and makes a difference..e.g. the scunthorpe game - a brilliant team who were running rings around us - robinson comes on after about 70mins and scores within minutes..as well as having the option for a second. no one else seemed able to even get close.
And have we seen him in a league game since? im thinking not...So i ask, why did he at least not warrent a sub on, if not a place for the next game or so??

In a team performing well you could at times find a place for either Robinson or Cox, but not both, in our position they can only be considered as subs,

I looked into this before, and I think over HALF of his appearances have been as a sub.

Not to mention he has been used as a winger for a long time now, and not as a striker. Therefore it's not a priority for him to score goals from out wide, as much as it would be if he was used upfront.

No, but it would be a priority for him to create goals from the wide position. How many assists does he have to his name?

You say that his goals in the cup are irrelevant yet you are probably one of the people saying wins 5 draws 8 losses 2

So make up your mind whether the cup games are important or not...

Look at the opposition in the cup. 5 FA cup goals against non-league teams and a few in the JPT.

What has Robinson done so badly to warrant this sort of view? I really don't get it.

Ok, he doesn't score goals, but for someone who plays out wide and has made most of his appearances from the bench I'd say that is to be expected.

Ok, he's not the most consistent, but if he was he'd possibly be at a higher level. He does at least, when ON form, show talent, skill, and creativity. That's more than plenty of others who don't even manage that and get away without a hint of criticism on here.

On the contrary, he is consistent. Consistently doesn't score regularly to warrant a place up front and consistently doesn't create goals from the wing.

You are seriously having a laugh. Changed a 4-0 home defeat into a 4-1 defeat. Priceless!!!!!

What a ****ish thread to start

What a **** I am for starting a thread about someone who lacks the quality needed to be entitled to the £25 a match I spend on supporting the club.

What a **** it is that Jake has been getting paid to play football when he's clearly not good enough regardless of what level you think we are at.

Ok, he bottles tackles. Well so did Paul Brooker, but he didn't do too badly. Look in the Premiership, there are plenty of 'bottlers.' In attacking positions you can afford to have this. If he was a defender or central midfielder I'd have a problem with it, but who gives a shit if he can't tackle on the WING?

He should at least be on the bench right now, and having witnessed Anyinsah's 'performance' last night I would be tempted to throw Robinson in the team.

Are you trying to prove your point or what ?

apparently robinson's goal was a 30 yard cracker. Long range shots are definitely robinson's best asset. I think Micky should give the lad a chance at hartlepool on the bench. He clearly needs confidence - remember the days when people were calling him the "south coast" rooney!

How many games has he actually played the full 90 minutes? He has got talent,(purple patch 2 seasons ago for proof!!)Would like to see him play up front with Murray for a decent run of games before i would judge whether he's to be let go or not.
