Dunno whether this is true or not but it would be a shame as he's probably one for the future.

I'm actually more worried by the fact that Adam Virgo is on his way out in the summer when his contracts up. This will be a major blow as he is an integral part of the current team.

Jake may well prove to be quality but he's not there yet and sometimes these players don't go all the way as expected. Saying that though, as we've done all the work I would be gutted not to see his career pan out with the Albion but as I said, Virgo is already a Div 1 class player and would be sorely missed.

Well I did post this news about a week ago, but amazingly it didn't seem to make much of a ripple on NSC.
I was told on good authority by someone close to Adam Virgo that a 1st div club were chasing him and were very close to securing a deal for the summer when his contract is up. By all accounts its the sort of deal we will be unlikely to be able to match.

As he is under 24, we are entitled to a transfer fee even though he is out of contract.

If this information is true, I assume the offer was tempting enough for the club in it's current situation.

This would be a great shame as I had him down as the natural replacement for Leon Knight when he moves on.

Personally I do hope I am wrong about Virgo but as I said this came from a source close to the player.

And yes, I know the old "reliable source cliche" gets used way too much on here but if anyone looked into my posting history they would see that I don't bullshit and have only ever made one previous post similar to this invoving a players contract - that was back when DC was on the transfer list and I broke the news that he was about to come off the list and sign a new deal the following week.
