I don't Care who any of the presenters are, I'm watching the sport. I just want the presenter to provide accurate information about the event, venue and competitors, I have no interest whatsoever in who the presenter is, or anything else about him. IMO this is symptomatic of how sport has changed for the worse over the (recent) years. the stars are those on the pitch or track, not someone who can talk into a microphone, and invariably waffle on just because they love the sound of their own voice. At times it is acceptable to just shut up and let the images do the talking.
Halftime would be interesting then, lets just watch the presenters sit there and say nothing. With any sporting event, you have the build up leading to the start, and thats where a good presenter will come into his own. I do not think many people would put the football on at kick off time, then turn it off at half time, back on for the second half, off at full time and not forgetting to sit through the whole of it with the sound off. Its all about building the atmosphere and excitement and a good presenter will do that, my vote goes to JH
As a Formula 1 fan, I think he's the only piece of the jigsaw that Sky are missing. They've taken the best of the BBC and added plenty to the coverage themselves, but I think getting JH on board would have made them even more superior.
I honestly rate it [Sky] as one of the major influences on my life.
Nobody forces people to sign up for Sky, so moaning about the cost is ridiculous. The fact is they present sport in a vastly superior way to any other channel. The BBC is so boring and ITV is shambolic, but Sky is just bloody brilliant in every way. I honestly rate it as one of the major influences on my life. Football, cricket, F1, golf, whatever it is they do it magnificently.
As much as I like some of what you post to say Sky Sports is a major influence on your life beggars the question what sort of life do you lead ?

I like Jake Humphrey and the fact he supports his local(ish) team. .
As it happens Steve, I'm often one of those viewers. I guess I lead a hectic life, so can quite happily miss the build up as long as I don't miss the action. If I record a full day's worth of BSB for example, I'll end up zipping through and watching the races only despite having a lot of time for the presenter and guests. Often with football, I find the build up and half time analysis quite tedious with whoever is involved often saying any old guff really.
