I worked with a guy like this in the early 2000s, and while it's easy to knock the way it's described here he and his wife seemed very happy, seemed to be meeting all their life-goals and on track for achieving the things that were important to them. I'd say if it helps have a happy and fulfilling marriage and life then go for it (just maybe don't post about it on social media like it's a 'life hack' of some sort).

Agree if it works for them then good. However if my husband started talking to me like that I would run a mile, creepy as. You can't control life, to much shit gets in the way. Just be kind and support each other.

What are we in the habit of doing that no longer serves you? If she didn't say sex, I will be disappointed. See also "Where did you feel let down be me?"

Also, rather than "What are the things that light you up?", go with "Who are the men ...."

Basically what he is saying is-me and the Mrs palmed the kids off with friends, so we had a free night, went for a nice bit of scran, few bevies, had a quick chat about the kids and family stuff. Had laugh about what we f***ed up last year and promised ourselves we wouldnt f*** up so much with the kids this year, thought about where we may take them for hols in summer if they werent to much hassle. Just like im sure lots of parents do.

He then seems to have written it up like an office junior trying to justify why he should keep his job after being caught having an extra long liquid lunch with a colleague on a Friday afternoon

Agreed.
Nothing remotely abnormal about having a chat with your partner over a meal.
It’s the way he’s written it AND the need to post it on social media that’s so odd. He is odd. And so dry.
He’s not stupid but he comes across as very, very simple.

He didn't "have a chat" with her.

He reached out to her.
