Looks like JFC's gone.

Jake has always looked a level-headed, committed player. You can't fault his temperament. But football at this level is so highly competitive - and the situation for English players is made harder by a ballooning foreign market where decent players can be picked up at a fraction of the price.

The bottom line is, that despite all his promise over the years, JFC isn't consistently good enough for the Albion. He doesn't score enough and lacks conviction in his passing, which often sees him slowing down play with sideways prods when an attack is begging for urgency and quick release. He tends to disappear for long periods and fails to stamp any authority on the midfield.

That said, he's had some good games for us too and there's no reason his game can't develop further or that he can fit snugly into another system where he CAN impose himself and make an impact.

If he goes, he leaves with all the best wishes from me.

Agree entirely. If he is played in a more attacking role I think he will do well. Playing deeper he tends to be a little too safe. Allowed to express himself more he can be a real talent. Bit concerned that some of that has been coached out of him..

A lot of Rotherham fans will be seriously wetting their pants with excitement with the signing of JFC.

Based purely on Wiki it looks an incredible signing.

Reality will be less so but will still do a job.

Therein lies the rub: his favoured position seems to be as an attacking midfielder. However, this type of player fits broadly in one of two camps; either a guy who releases the wide men/strikers with a killer pass - a typical playmaker. Or a dead ball specialist/prolific scorer who has an eye for goal. The sort of player who will back up the strikers with 15 goals every season. In reality, JFC is neither of these. He's certainly not a combative/ball winning midfielder either. So rather than having it coached out of him, perhaps coaches realised he's not consistently strong enough in any of these roles, hence his selection wilderness at the Albion.

15 goals from midfield would make him a 10 million pound player and those are few and far between in the championship. He was not allowed to take the direct free kicks so no chance of scoring. MKDons allowed him and he scored a belter against Derby.

If he has gone then I hope we have some decent clauses in the contact...buy back, sell one etc.

Sad state of affairs though we are not growing our own.

He should of been playing instead of kayal and ince instead of knockart.

Brexit means brexit after all and im sick of these foriegners taking our jobs which is why i dont go any more. Team should be from ENGLISH players like Stockdale, Dunk, Bruno and Stephens.

Simply not good enough and because of that any fee is an irrelevance - cut the wage bill and move on!

Bit short sighted. There's a lot of potential left for JFC if he's played in his strongest position and given adequate game time - it's just he doesn't fit in at Brighton. Give it a couple of years and can see a club making a 5m bid for him, so hope club have built in a % sell-on clause of next sale into any deal done.

Could well be a goer, he'd have got a game tonight if he was staying.
