I can see why Wilshere wouldn't want to sign for Palace. As we know, Selhurst is full (in the loosest sense) of Spurs fans who can't get in at White Hart Lane, and might not want an Arsenal player in their team. But joining the Village Idiots and settling for playing in front of 10,000 yokels when he had a chance to go to Roma and expand his footballing (and other) horizons? Typical blinkered English footballer.

Arsenal blocked the move to Roma

But sure, let's go with your version.

West...West.......WEST SUSSEX
100% this.
But he will be a big fish in a small pond.....be a star at B,muff and he could attract interest from a top six Premier league side. Will be a success if injury free and Bournemouth have a star in the making....good luck to them.

I don't know about blocking the move to Roma but Bournemouth are paying £2m for the loan and full wages, which the Nigel's refused to meet( at least according to talk sport )

I'm not exactly sure where this idea comes from of the Village People's style suiting him more than Palace's. I saw them at LOT more than I would have liked last season and I can't say I noticed anything more than a lot of scurrying around. At one point the stats said that they ran further and more often than anyone except Tottenham. And they needed to, with so many - frankly - bang-average players. Teams who could pass the ball, like Stoke, just kept possession and beat them easily. He might improve them, but I can't see them doing much for him apart from giving him game time and tiring him out.

If I wanted to stay injury free, and consequently get game time, the thud and blunder at the bottom of the Premier League is probably the last place I'd go. He'll be knackered by Xmas.

What time are we going to see him holding the '6 year famous' red and blue then? Still can't believe they've pulled this one off - fair play - 20x bigger than any signing they've ever made...

You're obsessed!

Bullet dodged. Great player but never fit. Gonna cost them 6.5million in wages.

Have to say, I can be harsh on Palace, not because of the rivalry - more because of the cheating financially then gloating at their undeserved money but got to say I tip my hat on this signing. Wilshere is absolute quality and this is undoubtedly the biggest signing by about 20 times for Palace in their 6 year history. Benteke (who apparently thought he was joining Burnley due to mis-communication with his agent?!) was once very good and may end up being good again but £30mil is silly money and his wages have obviously caused turmoil at the club with their best player hopping ship to Everton, and Zaha (who I really don't rate) begging to leave & sulking. Remy, again was once good but hasn't played much and is on astronomical wages & a huge loan fee so is a bigger risk than many seem to think. And of course Cabaye has been a very poor signing and is a shadow of the player that did so well at Newcastle and has wasted a lot of their funds - can't even get a regular start now. But Wilshere is a different kettle of fish, a proven talent and without doubt one of the hottest properties in world football. As an England fan, I'm delighted with this move and wish him all the best at palace. There, I said it.

Ffsmurray - l was trying to be nice and turns out BOURNEMOUTH with their 10k gates were chosen over palace :ffsparr: Won't ever get a chance for a £40mil player to go there again!!!!!

In a straight choice he CHOSE BOURNEMOUTH!!!

Have been working today, who did Jack sign up with? I suspect the best club won

Reading up on it, despite what the Nigels are saying on here, Arsenal blocked the moves abroad so it was a straight choice between CP2010FC & little Bournemouth for Jack and he chose Bournemouth. He said something about the fans being the best in the league as one of his reasons. Seems the place fans on here have fabricated a story about them not wanting to pay all his wages which isn't anywhere to be seen in the respectable reports. Pards was on SSN saying what a huge signing it would be too - and that they were still hopeful - certainly wasn't anything to do with £s as palace fans on here have tried to suggest to save face... Just feel bad for them as they've all disappeared from NSC but we're all over this thread last night :ffsparr:

This is incorrect. Wilshere and his agent were said to be very keen to sign for Palace but we were insisting on a break clause. Bournemouth said "we'll take him for the whole season whether he gets injured or not" and so he went there.

I'm not sure why you're trying to laugh at Palace though considering we've just had by far the best transfer window in the history of our club. Mandanda, Tomkins, Townsend, Benteke, Remy? That is a sensational set of signings.

It was a loan deal mate. It's not the end of the world. For the record: It's the £30m Benteke signing that makes us a "prowper club" :)

Palace didn't want him as much as Bournemouth did. Too much of a risk. Bournemouth are desperate to at least add some quality to their squad to be in with a chance of staying up, Palace will already stay up with or without Wilshere.
