Jack The Ripper

There's a lot of detail here:-

http://www.casebook.org/dissertations/rip-butchersrow.html

Kosminski seems to have been an East European butcher, also known as the "Butcher's Row" suspect. But was the Bull Inn that appears in the accounts of the surveillance of Kosminski not the Bull Inn in Aldgate High Street, but the Black Bull Inn in Old Montague Street? The official accounts are rather vague.

I'd like to think so.

For why? Because my cousin's great great grandmother was the licensee of the Black Bull throughout the 1880s. And she took in lodgers from Europe - including (in the 1881 census) no fewer than seven butchers. And some of the murders took place only a couple of hundred yards away from the Black Bull.

Cheap but informative documentary apparently a couple of years old pointing the finger at Aaron Kosminski. Interestingly he was questioned by police at Seaside House in Brighton a Police convalesences home; building still @ 11 Portland Rd.
