Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Had the pleasure of Wigman's company this morning.
He hopes to post his photos later.
Bitter cold wind, causing the old trigger finger a bit of a problem.
Strange structure in front of south west thrust block.
More concreting and other work gone on in the west stand basement.
Should see dramatic advancements on this stand and arch erection soon.
2 lots of 5 coming up.

Message to construction workers....
Get a bloody move on. That arch has been up once already. How much more farting around with it do you need to do ? And another thing.......

Everytime I see these pictures, I think of all the doubters in the Argus that would say that it would never be built because of money, environmental issues, etc.

It makes me want to laugh heartily at them!

In my bungalow
Once all the base work is done, the steel frames will go up very quickly, as did the east stand, but there still seems a hell of a lot to do considering its got a finishing date of May 2011.

I cant wait. Super pics

Photo two is a whole story in itself. Will those three ever get out, wheres person 4, and why isn't he wearing his hi-viz jacket, and whats with the unleaded fuel can?

Ah yes, i remember my days on the Argus forum with such cocks as Septicwank & LTNS, although I can't be bothered to sign up & see if they are still around.

As for the scheduling questions, although I am not in the know, there's plenty of leeway built in because such a large development is bound to have the odd hitch, like bad weather.

They've done well in the good weather and will, no doubt, do so again. I imagine a lot of work is still going on below the stands and so may not be so noticable. maybe the weather has made the ground too wet to move the crane that will lift the arch?

Agreed great photos and I was thinking the same thing about whether we are on schedule and also within budget.

I think Insider said the other week we are still very much on schedule despite the weather.

yeah - re: your first line Freddie. There was one who regularly posted on the Argus who said it would never be built - cant remember the name - who said that we were just digging a big hole and playing mud pies! Oooh look mud pies, no hold on - chalk pies, no hold on - concrete pies, no hold on - steel pies, no hold on f***ing crane pies - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
