what is the stuff to the left of the built stuff that they have pumped loads of concrete in? Is it the foundations for the stand....if so, was the foundations as deep for the stand that is up now

They're the thrust wall bases. They're the foundations for the roof arches, which will hold up the roof. It a few thousand tonnes of steel so that's why they're bloody big
